Quiet Utility is a functional homewares brand reimagining practical household essentials as objects worthy of display.

We believe the things we use every day should feel as considered as the spaces they inhabit.

The practical things are often the least considered.

We carefully choose the furniture, colours and objects that shape our homes. Each decision contributes to how a space looks, feels and functions.

Yet many of the practical objects we rely on were never designed with those spaces in mind. They serve a purpose, but often introduce visual clutter or need to be hidden away.

Quiet Utility was created to reconsider them.

Our approach begins with a genuine household need, then asks how that function can be expressed through thoughtful form, material and detail.

The result is utility that feels intentional within the home.

Where Quiet Utility began

Quiet Utility began with a familiar frustration.

The available solutions for fruit flies rarely felt at home in a considered kitchen or living space. They were used because they were needed, then hidden because of how they looked.

We believed there could be another approach.

The Walter Vase became our first object. It brought together sculptural ceramic form and practical function, establishing the idea at the heart of Quiet Utility.

Useful objects should not need to be hidden. They should be designed to belong.

Our philosophy
